About the number 2:

As the most feminine among all numbers, the 2 is also the most underestimated — at least, when it comes to power and strength. After all, she is almost always gentle, tactful, diplomatic, forgiving and understanding. Certainly, she likes to keep the peace and will avoid confrontations as much as possible.

The number 2 represents the duality of humankind, togetherness and what we hope to receive.
It is feminine and symbolic of the Moon.

It represents the female and everything associated with feminine traits: uncertainty, change, emotions and vacillation. Marriage, sex, and togetherness are descriptors and the element is water.

The number 2 has the following character traits associated with it:
* Comforting of others
* Inclined to take up fads
* Co-operative and good-natured
* Sympathetic and understanding
* Helpful and good at keeping a secret.
* Gets along well with others but may be shy and timid.
* Likes detail and settled routine – somewhat as long as others are around –
* and may worry by newness and sudden changes.

This energy represents togetherness, but it can also come to mean divorce and separation. Emotions and doubt, trouble, misery and destruction can arise, while at the same time it promotes partnership with others.
Over-sensitivity may result when this vibration is heightened.

Wisdom, love, association with others, marriage and subservience are the keywords.

The Feminine and the Moon:

The 2 energy is represented by the feminine side of the Moon and all that leads us toward our inner emotions and sensations. The 2 always looks for the one to partner with, if, and it is one of the most benevolent and caring numbers of our world.

The element it represents is water (pure emotion)

If you look at the shape of the 2, however, you will recognize a symbolic representation of the ultimate survivor and an extremely resilient force.

Her shape – Looking as if bent on one knee, with her head and back bowed forward in humility and servitude makes it easy to dismiss her as weak and powerless. And so when the feminine 2 finds herself under attack and burdened with a crushing weight, she will bend and she will bend as much as needed but once the weight is removed, her elastic, flexible nature allows her to come right back up, seemingly with little harm done, and she will continue to play her role.

Her strength and power is resilient and lasting, just as the shape of the number 2 reflects that so beautifully. There is much more to her than meets the eye; and is often the true power behind the throne.

The energy of the 2 has an in-born sense of music and rhythm and it is in the lighthearted arena of play and art that she shines as a dancer and a conversationalist.

The Lesson of the 2:

Learning to be more diplomatic and tactful, to stay in the background when necessary and sometimes to accomplish something without the need to be praised and rewarded.

She teaches us to:
* Learn to be part of a team, to be more sensitive to other peoples’ needs and feelings, as the only road to success is through patience and attention,
* Learning to trust your instincts and intuitions.
* To develop confidence in your decision making.
