Venus planet meaning
Venus is the 2nd planet from the Sun and the 3rd smallest in our solar system. A terrestrial planet, hotter than any other, it is often referred to as Earth’s Twin or Earth’s Sister since it is approximately the same size, density, and composition of our planet. With a dense atmosphere composed mostly of carbon dioxide, Venus has three layers of cloud cover with continuous thunder and lightning storms. A greenhouse effect causes the surface temperature to rise to an extreme 472 degrees Celsius.
Venus the planet mythology
Venus was known to ancient civilizations both as the Morning Star and as the Evening Star. The brightest and closest planet to Earth, Babylonians referred to it as the “Bright Queen of the Sky”. In ancient Rome, Venus was known as the Goddess of Love or Great Goddess and temples dedicated to her were actually schools teaching sexual techniques and exercises. Under the guidance of the teachers known as venerii (harlot-priestesses) those who entered the temples were instructed in the art of the spiritual grace of Tantrism.
Astrology Venus harmony
Venus planet meaning is pure desire… an energy of love, balance, and harmony. It is the ability to appreciate and to value… to love and be loved. The energy is both earthy and sensual, loving and fair. However, if the pure energy of Venus is denied or thwarted, then the desire to merge and cherish may manifest as vanity or possessiveness.
