Capricorns are very ambitious people, they always have something they are pursuing and they want their lives to be fulfilled and important. They are extremely patient and will wait a long time for something they want, and when the opportunity arises, they will plan their steps carefully to others, they might appear hesitant but this is not true, they know that there is only one chance to succeed and they are filing together their information to take the proper steps to accomplish their goal with flying colors, not just second rate.
Capricorns have a very active mind and strong powers of concentration. They like being in control of their surroundings and everyone in their life. They are very cautious, but this is only to survey the situation before leaping in, as they will never make a hasty jump in. They do accept change but need to introduce it slowly so they can get used to it and incorporate it into their life.
Capricorns tend to see life in black or white, definitive’s only. There are no gray areas- for these are areas that are not understood and this makes Capricorn feel uncomfortable. They tend to be in control in a romantic relationship, that way, they are never vulnerable to another person.
Capricorns have this sense of melancholy and necessity for structure and work because inside they feel they are unworthy and need to continuously prove their worth. Once they realize that all they need is self-love, doors will open and they will see the world in a new light, one that allows for pleasure and guilt-free fun.
Capricorns most important need is security- financial and material security. This is the driving force behind their ambitious character and all other personality traits of desire to succeed. They are very concerned with their public standing and their prestige. Capricorns are loners but they also need to feel appreciated, but they are excellent at hiding this truth.
Capricorns are very self contained and they have many faces they present to the world, they are known as aloof and indifferent but this is them concealing themselves from the world, unfortunately, they may never know who they really are. This causes feelings of insecurity and causes them to question their own self worth.
Capricorns make it difficult to get close emotionally because once they let someone in, they do not want to let them go and emotional connection makes them feel vulnerable yet satisfied at he same time. This is an ongoing internal conflict of contradictions inside the Capricorn’s mind.
Another dimension of this sign often left unmentioned is the spiritual wisdom associated with this sign. An ancient symbol for Capricorn is the Mer-Goat, a half-goat / half-fish creature that derives its wisdom from both intuitive and physical realms. For some Capricorns, there is a pronounced willingness to explore the spiritual dimensions of life, but not in a wishy-washy or soft-focused way. Capricorns take the receiving of wisdom very seriously, and are often prepared to face their faults with candidness. This means that they are able to quietly liberate themselves from the many binds of the ego. The learn how to transcend the physical by accepting it for what it is. Many spiritual teachers, including Jesus Christ, are associated with Capricorn.
This sign has long been seen as one of great mystery and depth. Some esoteric astrologers call this the sign of the Initiate, who achieves mastery over the physical form before offering trans-personal service to others. Capricorns teach the lesson of practical spirituality through its application to the everyday. Furthermore, this sign relates to institutions and civil society. In fact, civilization itself is symbolized by this sign. For cohesive physical structures to endure, there must be a Will-to-Good that pervades society. Capricorn represents longevity and the endurance of the human spirit through developing spiritual wisdom.
On another level, Capricorn is a very sensual or physical sign. Although they may be reserved and dignified in public, when the door is closed and curtains pulled, another story unfolds. Capricorns often have a highly developed sensual side that needs to be expressed. Staying in touch with the body through exercise and play is essential. If work time and ambitions become consuming, their best bet is to schedule time away from it all, so they can enjoy their physical side, experiencing the things of the Earth to full advantage. Many Capricorns have a powerful sex drive that needs an outlet, and have a way of making up in the bedroom for all the straight-laced behaviors they sometimes show on the outside. As much as this is a sign of hard work and endurance, it is also a sign of celebration, showing others how to revel in the pleasures of life. In ancient times, the festival of Saturnalia – a celebration of wild abandon – was celebrated during Capricorn time. Now Christmas is the time in the Western world to celebrate life and its generosities. Capricorn can be the literal party-animal, knowing how and when to have a good time by making the most of whatever is available.

Lesson for All of us in the Sign of Capricorn:
As we step out of the old energies of 1 year and into the new energies of the next, it is time to for us to learn to drop the “masked self” ( perhaps the one we created from this past year ) and return to and remember the “true Self”. Self-validation and conquering fear are vital for us to truly master life and living. An empowered expression comes from knowing that you are successful, not because of what you have achieved in material gains or through the approval of others, but because of who you have become. Your self respect has been achieved through mastering the inner world rather than trying to obsessively control the outer world. Our wisdom comes through experience and maturity combined with hard-earned skills. The fear(s) that we hold on to still ~ those that vibrate within you still~ that you will fail or be humiliated, will only result in holding you back and cripple you.
We have to remember and remind ourselves, that the source of our abundance and gains from last year and throughout our lives, is from the creator or Universal Energies. And those gains occurred through those times that that we surrendered and let go, allowing the Divine to present to us that which we are destined to have and achieve. Because there is a controlling factor in Capricorn energies, we may be reminded of those areas of our lives where we still feel we need to control. ( I know for myself, I am a Taurus and part of my lesson with the sign is about money and finances and the relationship that I have with regards to it. )
All the signs have an aspect of over-control ~ look at your sign and the repetitive theme throughout your life, to figure out what you need to work on and let go of.
